Low Loader

We use this little piece of equipment for the total lifting of vehicles. Here in the picture you see a 32ton tipper. Usually we would front/ rear lift these vehicles using and under-lift/ spec on our heavy wreckers, however if these are fully loaded this would twist the chassis so we would use the low loader. We can also use the Low Loader for bendy buses, plant and many other items that are long or heavy or both.

Accident Recovery

Now this is where the interesting stuff starts, and every grown up becomes an inquisitive child because these jobs always draw a crowd. This picture shows our two heavy wreckers at their best when they were called to an incident in SM5 on the A232 at Carshalton Ponds just before the High Street where a skip lorry driver misjudged the width of his truck and strayed a little too close to the edge. With the police on-scene, the road closed and plenty of onlookers it was our chance to answer the question “ How are they going to get that out of there” again more photos in our gallery.

Rollovers

On occasions you find vehicles in the strangest positions and places - a little boy asked his mum “was the lorry sleeping because it was on its side?”. No, it had been in a collision on the A23 just outside Merstham, Surrey. Again with police on-scene we were asked to recover this vehicle, but first we had to put it back on its wheels. Again, with the aid of our specialist equipment we were able to right this truck and transport it to the companie's depot. More pictures of this incident in our gallery.

Classic Car movements

From time to time we have been asked to move some fantastic classic cars, from old crocks to racing cars. These vehicles are at shows, film sets, photo shoots, track days or movements to body shops etc. In these incidents more time and planning is needed.

Multi Deck Movements

With the aid of our sister company we can offer multi car movements using car transporters. Both covered and open, these vehicles are available for both UK and European transportation. With this side of the business ever growing in popularity GMS are constantly upgrading their fleet. (Photos to be added soon)

Plant Movements

With the unique vehicles that we operate it seemed only natural that we diversify slightly into the movement of plant. For the majority of the time we would use our low loader but as the pictures show plant comes in many shapes and sizes so the 48ft trailer isn’t always necessary.
